Bajo Nuevo Bank, also known as the Petrel Islands, is a small, uninhabited reef claimed by both the United States and Colombia, but administered by Colombia. There are no accommodations or human activity, and the reef is primarily of interest to marine biologists studying its rich underwater ecosystem.
