The `No Man`s Land` or the Green Line is the border zone in Cyprus that separates the southern Greek Cypriot and northern Turkish Cypriot parts of the island. It was established after the conflict in 1974 and is patrolled by United Nations Peacekeeping Forces. Within this zone, the abandoned city of Varosha, once a glamorous beach town, stands frozen in time. While it`s not possible for tourists to enter the `No Man`s Land`, the buffer zone can be observed from both sides of the island.
